"El Huero" Frankie Duarte

Last year we had the great pleasure to have tough bantamweight contender Frankie “El Huero” Duarte on TheBoxingBar podcast. The fighter from Venice, CA started his professional career on August 16, 1973 at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles. He fought many tough fighters during his run like Albert Davila, Rolando Navarrete, Richie Sandoval, Jesus Salud, and Bernardo Pinango. Frankie fought his last bout on August 31, 1989 losing against International Boxing Hall of Famer Daniel Zaragoza for the WBC world super Bantamweight title. During his years as a boxer, he fought battles outside of the ring with substance abuse that made headlines. In this interview he was very open about it and was very proud of winning those battles. Sadly, Duarte passed away recently on May 25th. Thank you for the interview, Champ! May you Rest In Peace.
