Felix Vega

Felix Vega trained Ventura County's first world champion Lupe Aquino. Vegas was born in Santa Paula on June 7, 1944. He won the title of "Outstanding Fighter of Ventura County" in both 1958 and 1960. In 1972, he formed the Santa Paula Vega Boxing Club. He became assistant coach to the Southern California Golden Gloves in 1979, and head coach the following year. Vega was inducted into the VC Sports Hall of Fame in 2001. Mr. Vega passed on December 26, 2017.
